Marc needs no introduction, having been a part of the Kababayang Pilipino family for over two decades in various artistic capacities. He is an accomplished dance and theatre artist, directing and choreographing contemporary dance pieces in 2018 for our 25th Anniversary presentation “TATAK”, and more recently performing in Co.ERASGA’s 20th Anniversary production called “Offering”.
Marc is excited and looking forward to working with our members as Artistic Director, leading KP in its upcoming Filipino folk and traditional dance season. To help shape the season, Marc is forming a Creative Cohort comprised of the roles below. These are volunteer roles, with an honoraria for the Music Director, and the individuals will work closely with Marc in creating our mainstage performance in November.
Description:
- Create and develop original choreography based on Filipino traditional/folk dance forms for the KP 2022 season
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director in developing the Artistic Plan and incorporating choreography into the broader artistic vision, as well as facilitating dance rehearsals
Qualifications:
- Experience in creating Filipino traditional/folk dance choreography
- Experience in performing Filipino traditional/folk dances
- Experience in working with dancers, musicians, and other artists from diverse artistic backgrounds and experience
Description:
- Compose and rehearse Filipino traditional/folk music for the KP 2022 season
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director in incorporating music into the broader artistic vision
- Facilitate music rehearsals with an ensemble of musicians
Qualifications:
- Experience in composing Filipino folk music, including rondalla and percussion instruments
- Experience in performing Filipino folk music, including rondalla and percussion instruments
- Experience in working with musicians, dancers, and other artists from diverse artistic backgrounds and experience
Lighting Designer
Description:
- Design the lighting for the KP 2022 season
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director in incorporating the design into the broader artistic vision
- Collaborate with the choreographers to provide specific lighting design needs that aligns with the broader artistic vision
Qualifications:
- Experience in designing the lighting for live performance
- Experience in designing the lighting specifically for Filipino Folk Dance live performance, an asset
