Leanne believes that all you need is passion to be a dancer. She discovered her passion for dance at the age of 10 when she started her classical ballet training at the Festival Ballet Academy. Since then, her journey has led her through various kinds of dances from cultures all over the world. An advertisement at the back of a Philippine Newspaper drew her attention to Kababayang Pilipino. She became interested in Philippine folk dance while participating in the company’s workshops. Since then, dancing with the company has helped her learn more about her own culture and her people’s history. She has been dancing with Kababayang Pilipino since early 2007. Leanne loves learning the different styles of Philippine dance and is attracted by the colourful sights and sounds that accompany it. She hopes to be a part of Kababayang Pilipino for as long as she is able to and looks forward to performing and sharing the Philippine culture with the world.
