Geri initially believed that Filipino dance was only about the Spanish and Rural suites, in particular with Tinikling and Pandango sa Ilaw dances. After attending one of the KP workshops in 2004 with her daughter, she couldn’t have been more mistaken about those beliefs. Since joining KP in 2004, Geri has gained more knowledge and appreciation for the rich Filipino culture through dance. Although she started out with the backstage aspects of the company, Geri has become an active dancer for Kababayang Pilipino, with two KP tours already to her résumé (Prince Rupert and Campbell River). She continues to help out with the backstage aspects of KP, especially with the KP Costumes & Accessories team. Geri would like to thank KP for giving her this full opportunity.
