As a child growing up, the thought of being in a Filipino Folk Dance troupe seemed foreign for this Canadian born Filipino. However, Armando loved watching Tinikling & Singkil since the first day he saw them. There was something thrilling about watching the dancers weaving in and out of the bamboos without getting caught. After years of watching performances at local festivals, Armando joined KP in February of 2004 and has enjoyed every minute of being with the group and learning more about his Filipino culture, the dances and the stories behind them. Armando always looks to improve himself with the aid and leadership of his fellow dancers. He also tries to lead by example in hopes of motivating and encouraging others. Armando is extremely proud and honored to be a part of what is now his 2nd family, Kababayang Pilipino.
